This course is dedicated to familiarising students with the fathers (using traditional classifications) and to introduce patristic thought. Special care is taken to display a wide variety of texts and forms of patristic literature, highlighting characteristics and features.

هذه الدورة مخصصة لتعريف الطلاب بالآباء (باستخدام التصنيفات التقليديَّة) ولتعريفهم بالفكر الآبائيّ. ونعطي عناية خاصة لعرض مجموعة متنوعة من النصوص وأشكال الأدب الآبائيّ، مع إبراز الخصائص والمميزات.

Students will form a foundational understanding of the basics of the Orthodox doctrine as they become acquainted with the various dogmas of the Church from a Biblical and patristic perspective. Theological terminology is introduced.

سيشكل الطلاب فهما تأسيسياً لأساسيات العقيدة الأرثوذوكسية عندما يتعرفون علي العقائد للكنيسة من منظور كتابي وآبائي. وذلك عبر تقديم المصطلحات اللاهوتية

An overview of the sacraments is provided by investigating their historical development, theological and liturgic perspectives. Although all the sacraments are covered, special attention is given to Baptism, Chrismation and Eucharist as the seed from which emerges and grows the new creation in Christ. The fundamental elements of Orthodox worship are also explored, dwelling on central motifs such as the Church as the mother of all believers and our union as the Body of Christ.

يتم تقديم لمحة عامة عن الأسرار من خلال التحقق من تطورها التاريخيّ، ووجهات نظرها اللاهوتيَّة والليتورجيَّة. على الرغم من تغطية جميع الأسرار، إلّا أنّه يتم إيلاء اهتمام خاص للمعموديَّة والميرون والإفخارستيا باعتبارها البذرة التي تنبثق وتنمو منها الخليقة الجديدة في المسيح. يتم أيضًا استكشاف العناصر الأساسيَّة للعبادة الأرثوذكسيَّة، مع التركيز على الزخارف المركزيَّة مثل الكنيسة كأم لجميع المؤمنين واتحادنا كجسد المسيح.

This unit breaks down the theology pertaining to the conceptualisation of the Triune God (the Holy Trinity), discussing the historical development and formulation of this doctrine with regards to the ecumenical councils (especially the Nicene creed). The different angles and dimensions of this dogma are explored through a comparative study of the Church fathers’ writings. The works of the Holy Trinity will be explored, highlighting key themes such theologia, oikonomia and knowledge of God when speaking about creation and redemption.

تتناول هذه الوحدة اللاهوت المتعلق بمفهوم الله الثالوث (الثالوث الأقدس) ،وتناقش التطور التاريخي وصياغة هذه العقيدة فيما يتعلق بالمجامع المسكونية (خاصة قانون نيقية ) يتم استكشاف الزوايا والأبعاد المختلفة لهذه العقيدة من خلال دراسة مقارنة لكتابات آباء الكنيسة وسيتم استكتشاف أعمال الثالوث الأقدس ، مع التركيز علي الموضوعات الرئيسية مثل اللاهوت ، و التدبير و معرفة الله عند الحديث عن الخلق و الفداء

This course aims to prepare servants for the challenges and obstacles that they will face while serving in a rapidly changing world by setting the appropriate concepts and philosophy in addition to fostering the thinking that leads to the formation of competent servants and fruitful service. A wide variety of topics are discussed.

يهدف هذا الكورس إلى إعداد الخدم للتحديات والعقبات التي سيواجهونها أثناء الخدمة في عالم سريع التغير من خلال وضع المفاهيم والفلسفة المناسبة بالإضافة إلى تعزيز التفكير الذي يؤدي إلى تكوين موظفين أكفاء وخدمة مثمرة. يتم مناقشة مجموعة متنوعة من الموضوعات.

This course introduces the historical background of the Gospel, paying very close attention to the theological themes especially Christology, eternal life, eschatology and the Sacraments, exploring Christ’s divine Salvation. The Gospel’s use and place in the writings of the Church fathers particularly in relation to the refutation of heresies is explored. Some key texts of the Apostle John’s epistles are also examined as supplementary texts. The Gospel will be contrasted to the Synoptic Gospels in this study.

يقدم هذا المقرر الدراسي الخلفية التاريخيَّة للإنجيل، مع إيلاء اهتمام كبير للموضوعات اللاهوتيَّة وخاصة الخريستولوجيّ والحياة الأبديَّة والأسخاتولوجيّ والأسرار المقدّسة، واستكشاف الخلاص الإلهيّ للمسيح. استكشاف استخدام الإنجيل ومكانته في كتابات آباء الكنيسة، خاصة فيما يتعلق بدحض البدع. يتم أيضًا فحص بعض النصوص الرئيسة لرسائل الرسول يوحنّا كنصوص تكميليَّة. سوف يتم مقارنة الإنجيل مع الأناجيل الإزائيَّة في هذه الدراسة.
